Practicing Preventative Health

A really helpful phrase that explains the way disease and sickness work, “Genetics load the gun. Lifestyle pulls the trigger."

If you have a family history of heart disease, diabetes, cancer, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, or dementia. You are not DOOMED to experience those as well. Yes, they are a part of your genetic make up. HOWEVER, depending on how you choose to live your life - the foods you eat, whether or not you exercise - you can TURN OF those genetic possibilities for yourself.

This is called Epigenetics - the study of how your behaviors and environment dictate the expression of your genes.

I have every single one of those diseases in my family history.

I do not intend to experience a single one of them.

I am eating and living unlike any of my parents, grandparents, or relatives. I WISH I could say they did/are doing what I’m doing, and I HOPE that those who are still alive will join me.

The thing is, you are LITERALLY what you eat. I’m sure you’ve heard it said, “You are what you eat”. The vegetable oils used to fry your french fries and the fake sugar in your soda become the resources your body is forced to use to make your cells.

Your body is constantly repopulating your body with new cells.

That’s good news because simply by changing your diet and lifestyle you can recreate your body. Every 7-10 years, every cell in your body is replaced. Isn’t that so cool how God’s Kingdom principles of transformation apply even to our cells?!

Imagine if we saw food for the building blocks that it is for our bodies? For our vitality? For our future?!

I am working to help you prioritize your health amidst a busy schedule. If you’d like to join in, please shoot me an email!
