Sometimes starting a healthy journey can feel overwhelming. The hard truth is, making healthy changes is only as difficult as we make it. Thankfully, it just so happens that I’ve got FIVE super simple things you can do this weekend to set yourself up for the healthiest week of the year: ONE Get ONE giant non-plastic water bottle, no less than 30oz and figure out how many of those you need to drink a day to consume half your body weight in ounces of water. Put yourself on a schedule. 1/3 of the water consumed by 11am. 2/3’s by 2pm And the rest by 7pm. TWO Add just TWO servings of vegetables to what you eat each day. That’s 1/2 cup per serving. Throw some spinach in your smoothie or add it to your eggs, slice up some zucchini and sauté it for 5min with whatever meal you’re having... you can do it! THREE Plan out THREE times this coming week when you’ll do something active. It can be anything from going for a 20min walk to going to the gym for an hour. Whatever works for you! Feel free to mix it up. Don’t just say you’ll workout 3 times this week, put it in your schedule, your calendar, and enroll a friend or two to join you! FOUR Commit to having FOUR days this week where you get at least 7 hours of sleep. This may be the hardest one for some people. If you aren’t getting enough sleep, you aren’t allowing your body to be truly well! Weight gain, brain fog, lowered immunity, and other detriments result from under sleeping. Like the workouts, don’t just say you’ll get the sleep, move around what you need to in your schedule in order to get to bed at a reasonable time!! FIVE Take time to write down 5 things you’re grateful for every day. Gratitude is POWERFUL and can completely change the way we approach and live our days. This is easy to do, which means it’s easy not to do. Set an alarm each day for when you’ll write down the 5 things you’re grateful for! I’m tell’n ya. These may look SO simple... too simple even. But I can guarantee, if you commit to these the next week, you will feel the difference. And I BET you’ll find yourself doing other healthy habits along with them!! Who’s doing these?!?!
