I’m a Recovering Control Freak

Have you ever felt so strongly and so sure about something that you’d be willing to give your life to it?

I think for a lot of you, you would say that’s your love for Jesus.

That’s the case for me.

The thing is, I’m a recovering control freak.

And by recovering, I mean, no where near recovered, fully in the midst of my controllyness.

This makes it difficult to surrender my life to Jesus in all areas.

I want things to go my way.

I want to be able to adjust the inputs and outputs.

But at the same time, what I know I desire at the core is to be intimately connected with Him. To go deeper than doing what He’s called me to do, but to also BE with Him in all things, allowing my heart and mind to be transformed by Him.

This might sound weird, but one of the ways that’s made this experience tangible is my journey with health.

See, my body was designed by Him. It’s dependent on nourishment and care.

It becomes stronger and healthier when it is used from a place of love and hope.

Problem is, the world’s standard of nourishment is French fries and donuts.

Movement happens on a keyboard, and being disgusted with one’s body is the biggest motivator for change.

Sadly, as people called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, we are crippled by disease, low energy, and other physical ailments.

We typically don’t find support on physical health in Church.

And we don’t typically find support in physical health from a faith based perspective.

Spiritual and physical health have been separated, despite the clear value Jesus demonstrated for bodies in the thousands he healed.

Now, more than ever, the Body of Christ needs to support the bodies that comprise it. We can experience a whole new connection with God through the healing of our bodies, in partnering with His design!

I am PASSIONATE about supporting that healing process.

We get to learn to take hold of the physical side of our faith!!
