I may not struggle to eat healthy or meal prep anymore, but let me tell you - slowing down and allowing myself the time to take a nap or rest is still a major growth area.
Yesterday was a non stop back to back kind of day. I did not have one hot second to myself.
Despite intentions to get outside with Rhys in the afternoon, it just didn’t happen.
By the end of the day I felt SPENT.
Then Rhys decided that midnight was the time to stand up in his crib and scream for me... Thanks, buddy.
This morning I rolled out of bed with back to back calls, and then DID get to go outside to the park with Rhys.
But when I finally put him down for his nap, I decided - it was my turn too!
Rest isn’t always a nap. Sometimes it’s coloring. Sometimes it’s taking a walk outside. Sometimes it’s going for a drive. Sometimes it’s listening to your favorite music. Sometimes it’s sitting on the beach.
It’s whatever recharges your battery.
Resting says, “I am not God. God is. The world still turns even when I’m not doing something. Slowing down and refueling is productive too.”
The to do list never ends. It’s up to you to take the time you need to continue to chip away at it without running yourself into the ground.
Trust me, it’s not a fun place to be!
